4th Grade    Room 13

Welcome to Fourth Grade!

We're off to a great start!  Our 4th graders have been learning a lot in the past several weeks.  In math we're completing a review of Numeration and Multiplication skills.  In writing, we have been reviewing sentence structure and are delving into paragraphing.  We are currently focusing on the characteristics of Narrative writing.  We are working hard to prepare for two State writing assessments that will take place in February of 2010. We are making good progress in reading and are completing the second story in the Scott Foresman Reading Street Anthology.

We have a field trip scheduled for Wednesday, October 7th to Bonneville Dam.  The purpose of the trip is to prepare students for our upcoming science study of the Pacific Northwest Salmon.  We'll have the opportunity to observe the salmon before it spawns and swims out to sea.  A special thanks to the parents who have expressed interest in chaperoning.  Please contact me if you have additional questions regarding the field trip.

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to teach your child this year!
